About the Position: This recruitment is for an Engineering Technician with the Fort Stewart Directorate of Public Works located at Fort Stewart GA.

Duties

Perform analyses and evaluations to prepare information and data records relating to engineering projects. Perform a variety of engineering duties involved in the maintenance, repair and improvement of installation real property facilities. Recommend clarification, corrections, and changes in design to specification writers and design engineers. Prepare project contracting, budgetary, and reporting documentation. Assist management with the on-going analysis and control of funds for various engineering projects.

Requirements

• Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:1) Reviewing engineering project submittals to assess or identify financial requirements/design specifications; 2) recommending changes in design to support project plans/specifications; 3) tracking engineering projects to identify issues or provide status updates; and 4) responding to requests for information to clarify project/contract requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-10).
