You will serve as a Engineering Technician in the Facilities Engineering Acquisition Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC in New London, CT.
Duties
You will prepare technical specifications and drawings in accordance with current Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) in support of Category three and four construction projects.
You will review and make recommendations for approval of shop drawings, manufacturer's data and materials for acceptance from contractors on CAT 3/4 construction contracts.
You will participate as a team member on CAT 3/4 and FSC Technical Review visits.
You will use various software packages used on personal computers and networks required in the preparation of specifications, making cost estimates, preparing schedules and tracking requirements.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing contract documents (drawings, specifications, cost estimates, etc.) for CAT 3/4 construction and maintenance contracts for maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of real property and equipment; 2) Reviewing CAT ¾ construction and maintenance documents for conformance with FAR and NAVY regulations for completeness, contractibility, practicability and scope and reviewing and recommending approval of shop drawings, manufacturer's data and material for acceptance from contractors on FSC construction and maintenance contracts; 3) Compiling a plan of action and milestone schedule for each CAT 3/4 construction and maintenance specification, delivery order, modification and estimate assigned in eProjects; 4) Applying engineering knowledge, NAVY codes, building codes and safety regulations to all assignments and having an understanding of Structural, Mechanical, Civil and Electrical Engineering technology.
