About the Position: This Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist is with the Florida Panhandle Market located at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. Roughly 30% of time will be spent in an office setting and the remainder of time will be spent on your feet. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation utilizing DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce.

Duties

Plans and coordinates all work requirements and complex projects to maintain patient care buildings. Serves as a facility specialist in a medical facility comprised of multiple buildings with different functions requiring different operational procedures. Oversees multiple facility management resources including personnel, major service contracts, financial programs, continuous space utilization, Information services, and design/layout of facilities/structures. Supervises Consolidated Health Assets Management Program (CHAMP) contract and personnel for full utilization of all the real property and medical equipment within the facility provided by one focused specialized contract. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Implements and evaluates programs to manage medical safety risks, fire safety risks, facility response to emergencies, and to manage risks associated with physical security, hazardous materials, and waste. Maintains a safe environment and implements systematic processes that identify and eliminate safety hazards to patients, staff, and visitors, consistent with standards. Attends staff meetings, working groups, and coordinates with various personnel to accomplish facility work.

Requirements

• Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled.
• This position has a requirement to lift in excess of 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
• This position requires the incumbent to be On-Call.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
• Walking, climbing, bending and lifting heavy equipment in excess of 50 pounds.
• CPR-AED must be obtained within the first 3 months of coming on board.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: (1) Managing a healthcare facility which may include personnel, major service contracts, financial programs, continuous space utilization, Information services, or design/layout of facilities/structures (2) Directing work and guiding proper procedures to accomplish repairs and maintenance (3) Planning and scheduling work materials, equipment and employees necessary to complete assignments (3) Determine funding requirements to support maintenance and supply work, projecting future needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).
