Duties

Develops and assesses the Personnel Recovery training and support plans and operations. Provides prioritization and validation of all personnel recovery and SERE training. Conducts the necessary coordination with all levels of the command and appropriate agencies; initiates action to insure planning and implementation of the programs and the resolution of problems in critical areas. Receives and analyzes curriculum requirements and develops the requirements into viable training. Researches, develops, and provides documented solutions and recommendations based on regulatory requirements, applying a practical knowledge of training principles and techniques. Reviews and changes battlefield environment, technology, mission and tools change. Coordinates with JPRA establishing and maintaining a training cadre.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure (OGE-450 ) and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
  • May be required to work uncommon tour of duty hours, working either fixed or rotating shifts which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • This position has been designated Weather Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other emergency type situations natural or man-made disasters, the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work to support the mission.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information SCI and potential Special Access Program authorization access for the duration of employment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education / Training Program AdministrationOrganizational AwarenessStrategic PlanningTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent GS-12.
