This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Perform travel from 5-10 nights per quarter or longer, if necessary, CONUS and OCONUS. Must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft, vessels, and/or vehicles.
Duties
As a WARGAME ANALYST at the GS-0301-12/13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Conducts planning in support of the Chairman's Globally Integrated Wargame (GIWG) series examining future concepts and required capabilities.
Conducts lifecycle planning including wargame design, objectives, analytical objectives, analysis plan, facilities requirements, identification of wargame participants, and all supporting functions.
Plans work, sets priorities, and schedules work as necessary to assure effective and expeditious accomplishment of emergent tasks without adverse effect on regular and recurring work.
Develops specific policies, procedures, guidelines, and practices for the GIWG program and activities under Joint Wargaming and Experimentation Division (JWED) and Wargaming Branch (WGB) purview.
Prepares and presents briefings on planning, analysis, requirements, and other GIWG issues and conclusions, as required. Independently represent the branch and division leadership to boards and similar forums related to mission area, including those consisting of flag, general officer, and senior executive service.
Supports programmatic and budget performance assessment of WGB efforts relative to the supported program goals and objectives.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Selecting and applying past military operations, geopolitical situations and foreign military operations to develop and conduct relevant/effective wargames;
Utilizing experimentation analysis, design, execution, methodology, planning, and theory to prepare an coordination team for execution of a wargame, exercise or experimentation event;
Developing, compiling, editing, and presenting scenario products to participants to prepare and present formal scenario, coordination team, and exercise, wargame or experiment briefings;
Applying joint wargaming and experimentation concepts to research and develop operationally challenging scenarios;
Reviewing coordination team techniques and procedures in order to produce plausible threats through possible scenarios.
You may qualify at the GS- 12 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
Applying past military operations, geopolitical situations and foreign military operations to develop and conduct relevant/effective wargames or exercises;
Conducting experimentation analysis, design, execution, methodology, planning, and theory to prepare an coordination team for execution of a wargame, exercise or experimentation event;
Developing and presenting scenario products to participants to prepare and present formal scenario, coordination team, and experiment briefings;
Utilizing joint wargaming and experimentation concepts to research and develop operationally challenging scenarios;
Reviewing coordination team techniques and procedures to produce plausible threats through possible scenarios.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for these grade levels.
