About the Position: Serves as primary administrative assistant and office manager to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and subordinate divisions chiefs. Provides clerical and office automation support on a variety of staff actions and document workflow and control.

Duties

Maintain Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations' calendar and execute daily task and workflow as assigned. Prioritized tasks based on personal knowledge of workload, current issues, and supervisor's priority. Utilize office automation system and software packages to prepare and edit correspondence, reports, records, and narrative materiel, and messages in final format. Prepare travel arrangements using an automated system. Review all Requests for Personnel Action (RPA) for completeness and accuracy. Provide justification for personnel actions, such as recruit/fill, employee reassignments, pay initiatives, and incentive awards. Provide administrative assistance to staff regarding completion and/or preparation of performance evaluation forms. Coordinate with the Civilian Personnel Advisory Center when extensions are needed and questions arise regarding procedures for appraisals or awards. Prepare requests for personnel actions (RPAs) and provide justification for personnel actions, such as recruit/fill; employee reassignment, pay initiatives, position description changes, and incentive awards.

  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 35 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
