About the Position: The incumbent serves as a liaison with various Garrison Directorates regarding information, advice, and assistance on internal/external civilian personnel and manpower related matters to managers, supervisors, and employees.

Duties

Receives and prepares Request for Personnel Actions from all operational areas of assigned directorate or Staff proponent. Reviews policies and procedures for compliance with regulations and policies; makes recommendations for improved procedures and better service. Maintains files of all personnel actions and background material necessary to keep supervisors fully informed on status of positions and personnel actions. Provides administrative support for the Garrison awards program. Uses civilian automated tools (i.e., DCPDS, FASCLASS, SF50, etc.) to provide information to supervisors and employees. Provides wide range of administrative support to the Director on various critical Army programs, such as, but not limited to Army Congressional, Army Disaster Personnel Accountability and Assessment System (ADPAAS), Collateral Duty Safety Officer.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing Request for Personnel Actions for the directorate or Staff proponent; maintaining suspense file for all externally assigned taskers, as well as those generated by the Director; prepares charts and slides using personal computer with programs such as, but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full academic year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration and Human Resource Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18 add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalComputer SkillsManages and Organizes InformationWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
