About the Position: Chief Information Office, US Army Enterprise Services Agency, Army Declassification Directorate, Declassification Branch. Fort Belvoir, VA.
Duties
Review and approve for the Department of the Army (DA) the declassification of Army records and information.
Serve as the alternate point of contact within the Army declassification cell designated to respond to official inquiries.
Assist with the compiling of statistics and feeder reports, conducts orientation and training for subordinate personnel.
Oversee the day-to-day activities of a declassification team.
Assist in the resolution of unique and complex information access issues and personally reviews the most sensitive actions.
Review work of subordinates and accepts, amends, or rejects their work.
Assign work based on priorities, selective consideration of difficulty and the requirements of assignments and the capabilities of employees.
Assist in the formulation of plans, policy and procedures relative to the operations of the Army declassification project.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- One-year supervisory probationary period may be required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes approve the declassification of government records or information; assist with the development or implementation of a declassification program resolving matters related to information access; and analyze information, interpret material to develop declassification policy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
