This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Technical Operations, Operations Support, Nav/Comm/Env Group, Air Traffic Voice Switch System Team, En Route Communications Development & Engineering Support Subteam.
Duties
Incumbent serves as a technical authority on project teams that may include computer engineers, computer specialists, computer scientists, and electronic engineers. Plans and conducts analyses of broad areas of projected work processes, operational practices, problems, and needs that will affect Voice Switching and Control System (VSCS)/VSCS Training and Backup Switch (VTABS). The incumbent is responsible for providing technical direction and guidance for the development and implementation of all assigned programs.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the FV-J (FG/GS-14) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I (FG/GS-13). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized Experience: Experience identifying Software solutions to VSCS/VTABS obsolescence issues; knowledge in the operation and troubleshooting of VSCS/VTABS; skill in project management; and experience interfacing with external organizations.Applicants should include examples of Specialized Experience in their work history.ANDExperience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.3.
