These to (2) positions are located in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Policy Office, in one of two teams. One team is Corrections, Reentry and Justice Reform and the second is Behavioral Health and Justice Systems. The individuals will be Policy Advisors.

Additional information on the qualification requirements is outlined in the OPM Qualification Standards Handbook of General Schedule Positions and is available at OPM's website: https://www.opm.gov/qualifications/standards/indexes/num-ndx.aspAll qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.Screen Out Factor:Experience developing, implementing, and managing complex criminal justice projects including time and task planning and processing for multiyear and multipartner projects.MINIMUM FEDERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Qualifying experience for the GS-13 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-12 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include: experience with corrections, reentry, and justice reform programs OR behavioral health and justice systems programs including grant programs to include the laws, regulations, rules, policies and procedures for the administration of Federal grants and cooperative agreements; experience formulating guidelines, implementing new developments and providing policy interpretation for corrections, reentry, and justice reform programs OR behavioral health and justice systems programs; experience evaluating and monitoring corrections, reentry and justice reform programs OR behavioral health and justice systems programs; or experience as a technical expert in corrections, reentry, and justice reform OR behavioral health and justice systems program grants and/or cooperative agreements.TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications as described above will be further evaluated based upon the following technical qualifications:Knowledge of the laws, regulations, rules, policies, procedures, and methods governing corrections, reentry and justice reform OR behavioral health and justice systems technical assistance programs such as Federal grants and/or cooperative agreements.Ability to provide advice and guidance on corrections, reentry, and justice reform OR behavioral health and justice systems technical assistance program policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and guidelines.Ability to plan and execute work.Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.Ability to communicate in writing.
