This position is located in Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Force Readiness Command (FORCECOM), Compliance Branch (FC-Ac), Assessment Division (FC-A), Mission Management System (FC-Acmms) in Norfolk, VA.
Duties
The incumbent for this position is to commence, analyze, and support existing and emergent process improvement and quality management activities at Coast Guard components including the development of requirements, reports, and strategic recommendations and the initiation of actions to ensure compliance with U.S. international agreements which will ensure that FORCECOM has sufficiently trained and adequate manpower levels to provide ready forces for current and future operational requirements.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. - U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- This position requires travel (4 to 9 days per month).
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Qualifications
GS-13 grade level: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Examples of specialized experience include overseeing quality management systems through industry standards; serving as a lead auditor and/or audit team member to assess compliance with international regulations and policy; developing plans, goals, objectives and milestones for evaluating effectiveness of quality management systems; compiling and analyzing data to assess trends and providing recommendations; revising, reviewing, and interpreting directives, instructions, and regulation to improve programs; and communicating program information to management through oral and written reports.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
