About the Position: The incumbent serves as a member of the Patient Administration Division (PAD) working directly for the Chief, Patient Administration Division, Dwight D.Eisenhower Army Medical Center (DDEAMC). at Fort Eisenhower, GA. Provides guidance and assistance in development, implementation and maintenance of organization privacy policies, procedures and business practices in coordination with organization management and administration. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Ensure all aspects of Eisenhower Army Medical Center are compliant with the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JC) standards, Army regulations (ARs). Serve as the HIPAA Compliance Officer of the local Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) and HIPAA Subject Matter Expert (SME). Responsible for assigning work, technical oversight, performance evaluation, providing advice and counsel, developing training requirements, and hearing and resolving complaints. Manage, coordinate and integrate Healthcare Privacy functions for the Medical Treatment Facility.

• Must Obtain DHA Privacy Officer certification within first 90 days of employment.
• Must complete DA Small Group Facilitator/Instructor training within one year of employment.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
• TDY up to 5%
• This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in implementing training and awareness on information privacy and security to MTF staff; Experience with conducting compliance audits; Monitor and validate compliance activities; Experience in investigating reported compliance and HIPAA concerns; Experience with preventative program to detect, prevent, and mitigate privacy/security breaches; Experience in privacy and security compliance as required by State and Federal law as well as accrediting agencies; Experience in the use of medical facility primary computer based platforms, electronic health records and/or other similar systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
