You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST at COMMANDER, NAVAL AVIATION WARFIGHTING DEVELOPMENT CENTER, NAVAVNWARDEVCEN.

Duties

You will provide information and assistance to staff, subordinate and co-located activities by advising on personnel, information, industrial, NATO and foreign disclosure policies and related matters. You will formulate and recommend personnel security investigative requirements. You will advise on procedures for adverse security determinations and employee rights. You will represent the organization in personnel security, information security, physical security, industrial security, and NATO security matters with foreign guests and staff. You will develop and implement policies, directives and instructions regarding industrial information, NATO foreign disclosure and personnel security issues. You will conduct lock/combination changes for classified storage containers to include safes, vaults, secure spaces, and any other information security spaces/devices. You will implement a comprehensive security education program. You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities and prepare schedules for completion of work. You will evaluate work performance of subordinates and identify training needs of employees. You will monitor and report all incidents including serious incident reports resulting in criminal investigations. You will identify physical security procedures that will prevent the wrongful removal, damage, destruction or compromise of protected government property.

• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
• You may be required to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds in weight.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing security programs (e.g. personnel, physical, industrial, information) and procedures to identify and resolve security problems and program inefficiencies; and planning and implementing protective methods and security procedures for a large organization or command.
