This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in Chantilly, VA.
This position's primary purpose is to support the Diversion Control Division, Office of Diversion Control Operations (DO), Chemical Investigations Section (DOC).

As a your typical work assignments may include:
Evaluating operational programs and works with Senior Program Analysts to recommend changes.
Conducting surveys to determine registrant compliance with agency regulations, procedures, and reporting requirements.
Supporting Senior Program Analyst by participating in studies evaluating program elements pertaining to drug control and chemical regulation.
Collecting, analyzing and interpreting data from various sources to ensure registrant compliance.
Reviewing policies, regulations and laws affecting the administration and enforcement of the Diversion Control Program.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent -07.
GS-09: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: 1) collecting and analyzing data for accuracy; 2) researching and gathering information to compose written materials; 3) utilizing databases and information management systems to enter, track and collect data; 4) communicating with management to present information. OR
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: The experience requirement for the GS-09 level may be met by a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two (2) full academic years of progressively higher level graduate level education leading to such a degree or a LL.B or J.D., if relate Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the experience requirements. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond one year by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.
GS-11: Must have one (1) year of experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes the following duties: 1) conducting research to resolve problems; 2) interpreting and applying regulations; 3) analyzing data to determine compliance with regulation and procedures; 4) advising management on issues; preparing reports. OR
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: The experience requirement for the GS-11 level may be met by a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the experience requirements. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond two years by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.
GS-12: Must have one (1) year of experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes the following duties: 1) assisting in developing detailed plans, goals and/or objectives for long range implementation; 2) performing qualitative and quantitative program evaluation to determine compliance with rules and regulations;3) researching and preparing written analysis; and 4) advising management on the resolution of problems.
Education substitution is not applicable at the GS-12 level.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. For the GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09. For the GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
