You will serve as a PROGRAM ANALYST in the ACOS MATERIAL READINESS DIVISION of COMNAVSURFLANT.

Duties

You will develop and evaluate the Amphibious or Patrol Coastal (PC) and Mine Countermeasures (MCM) Ships depot maintenance and modernization. You will provide budgeting, planning, and oversight to the AMPHIB or PM/MCM to ensure that the Availability Work Packages (AWP) are appropriately balanced with life cycle management. You will review and prioritize cross ship maintenance and modernization programs. You will oversee current ship availability funding and exercise discretionary authority to approve reallocation and distribution of funds. You will monitor and analyze the readiness and material condition of all ship classes through casualty reports (CASREPs).

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • You will be required to perform occasional sea duty.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying comprehensive knowledge of Intermediate/Depot Maintenance Activities and Regional Maintenance center procedures for repair, alteration planning and execution of surface ship maintenance and modernization. Experience applying knowledge of the interrelated programs/processes required for the maintenance of surface ships from introduction into the fleet through their useful life, to serve as an advisor for current readiness, life cycle management, corrective maintenance, availability planning and execution and related matters relative to AMPHIB or Patrol Coastal (PC)/ Mine Countermeasures (MCM) ships. Experience applying knowledge of ship depot maintenance management to plan, advise on manpower requirements, financial requirement, equipment and supply requirements, training, storage, transportation and facilities requirements and industrial resource capabilities.
