Duties
You will provide support to the GPS Section of the TSPI and Telemetry Branch, Instrumentation and Data Systems Division, within the China Lake Ranges.
You will set-up, operate, and maintain assigned GPS datalink systems.
You will document system performance, operation, maintenance, failures, repairs, and best practices.
You will collect and deliver specified data in accordance to range policies and procedures.
You will ensure operational readiness of assigned range resources in accordance with applicable documentation and technical objectives.
You will provide Project Support of assigned instrumentation tasks.
You will execute approved project plans according to documented requirements.
You will apply applicable knowledge of GPS theory, design, analysis, development, and sustainability.
You will utilize equipment such as multi-meter, O-scope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, frequency meter, to accomplish specific tasks such as checkout, calibration, troubleshooting and repair of instrumentation systems and sub systems.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS 1-4) grade level or DT-01 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Operating and maintaining, GPS datalink systems; 2) Documenting system performance, operation, maintenance, failures, repairs, and best practices; 3) Collecting and delivering specified data in accordance to range policies and procedures; 4) Utilizing knowledge of GPS theory, design, analysis, development, and sustainability; and 5) Using equipment such as multi-meter, O-scope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, and/or frequency meter, to accomplish specific tasks such as checkout, calibration, troubleshooting and repair of instrumentation systems and sub systems.

Education
To qualify based on education:
Successful completion of (a) all the requirements for a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or electronics technology, or (b) 3 years of study in an accredited (by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) curriculum in electronics, or (c) a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree that included major study or at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as engineering, physical science, technology, or mathematics. At least 12 of the 24 semester hours must have been in electronics courses.
