The USBG is a leading public garden and museum that inspires people to appreciate, study, and conserve plants to enrich society locally and globally. Duties
Responsibilities include assessing the informational needs of both internal and external audiences; developing and implementing public relations campaigns; disseminating information about the USBG; responding to requests and maintaining positive relations with the news media; and working with numerous congressional offices and other government organizations.

Qualifications
You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-13 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower (GS-12) grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as having experience as follows:
Developing and implementing effective communication strategies;
Disseminating public information to the general public, media, and various government officials;
Developing news releases, media briefings and crafting printed materials.
Communicating information on a variety of botanical, agricultural, conservation and educational topics.
