This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Capitol Visitor Center, Exhibits and Educations Division. The Adult, Family and Youth Program Coordinator provides technical assistance in developing and coordinating public programs, education programs and events for visitors to the United States Capitol.

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-11 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service.Specialized experience for this position includes:
(1) Coordinating the logistical elements required to schedule and carry out public programs for adults, families and youth in an informal learning environment such as a museum or visitor center;
(2) Researching, developing and implementing historical and/or civics-oriented, formal and informal programming in multiple formats (symposia, family days, film series, professional development institutes, lectures, etc.) for a variety of audiences; and
(3) Working with a wide variety of stakeholders to develop and implement public programs.
