Duties
You will review designs and inspect facilities where sensitive material will be located.
You will determine or recommend the number and kind of safes, alarms, locks, fences, and markings needed, lay out restricted or controlled areas.
You will evaluate the effectiveness of existing security practices.
You will recommend the type of control requirements, procedures, and facilities needed to assure that organization personnel are adhering to established policy and practices and recommend appropriate action to correct deficiencies.
You will perform test for state-of-the-art intrusion detection systems and devices, safes and other storage containers, locks and locking systems, personnel entry control systems.
You will consult with operating personnel and other security specialists to devise protection systems, which provide maximum security with the least interference in the organization's mission.
You will conduct surveys and analyses to identify how critical and vulnerable facilities or sites are, and threats against them.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
DA-04:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9/10) or pay band (DA-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Determining or recommending the number and kind of safes, alarms, locks, fences, and markings needed, lay out restricted or controlled areas; 2) Reviewing designs, inspecting facilities where sensitive material will be located; ascertain the use to be made of material in the organization, who is to use it, and how it should be protected; 3) Evaluating the effectiveness of existing security practices; recommending the type of control requirements, procedures, and facilities needed; 4) Performing test for state-of-the-art in intrusion detection systems and devices, safes and other storage containers, locks and locking systems, personnel entry control systems.
DA-03:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5-8) or pay band (DA-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Utilizing security policies and procedures for the proper protection of controlled unclassified information (CUI) and classified information; 2) Providing training to the workforce relating to physical security; 3) Analyzing security concerns and providing a recommendation to leadership; 4) Responding to security incidents and communicating with team members.
DA-02:
Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-1-4) or pay band (DA-01) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recognizing solutions; 2) Planning and organizing work; 3) Communicating effectively orally and in writing; 4) Responding to security incidents and communicating with team members.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
DA-04:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
DA-03:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
or
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.

DA-02:
Successful completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree
