About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Rucker is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.
Duties
Investigates mishaps, prepares and/or reviews mishap reports and associated data to ensure accuracy in order to identify human, materiel, environmental factors and trends.
Advises and solicits information on risk management and accident prevention doctrine and policy in the area of safety.
Presents briefings and attends meetings, conferences, seminars and workshops on safety issues and their effect on mishap prevention efforts and safety program development.
Develops tools, policies, processes, and guidance for integrating risk management into Army processes.
Serves as a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist at the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center. Performs a broad range of duties in direct support and execution of the Army Safety Program.
Conducts safety program analysis, inspections, audits, surveys and staff assistance visits.
Writes letters, memorandums, fact sheets, articles for publications, scripts, white papers, and other correspondence in support of assigned safety program areas.
Requirements

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing loss prevention initiatives; communicating effectively, both orally and written, in support of safety programs; developing, coordinating, and delivering safety awareness training and education courses with an emphasis on risk management, risk reduction, work practices, and techniques; and assisting leadership in various administrative duties to include presenting briefings at meetings, conferences, seminars and/or workshops on safety issues and their effect on mishap prevention efforts and safety program development.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
