About the Position: This position will be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 4 years. This position services as the Transition Services Specialist for the Directorate of Human Resources, Military Personnel Division located in Fort Liberty, NC.
Duties
Serve as the installation's representative of the Transition Assistance Program (TAP), performing a variety of administrative, logistical, and related duties in direct support of the program.
Conduct briefings to a wide audience on the Transition Assistance Program (TAP).
Respond to inquiries utilizing information on military personnel benefits.
Prepare information materials for transitioning military personnel.
Ensure that contract specifications are carried out in areas and activities such as marketing, pre-separation and pre-retirement briefings, classes on resume writing, interviews techniques, and related topics.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing duties in direct support of transition assistance type programs such as soldiers transitioning from the military to civilian life; assisting with pre-separation/separation and pre-retirement/retirement briefings; and coordinating services such as resume writing, interview techniques, and related topics. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
