This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for the Business and Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a senior Data Scientist within the Deputy Chief of Staff G-6, Enterprise System Division of Army Contracting Command (ACC).

Duties

Utilizes analytics, acquisition, and data science to plan, conduct, and present complex contracting and financial systems analyses. Develops data set processes. Leverages analytical and statistical applications to produce superior analysis products. Acts as subject matter expert (SME) on a variety of data science principles and concepts to construct data fusion products that merge data from different systems. Create novel information that improves decision-making and mission accomplishment.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year trial/probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
• Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: In order to qualify based on experience your resume must describe, at least one year of specialized experience at the NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) level in the Federal Service that includes 1) Utilize data science to plan contracting and financial systems analyses; 2) Conducts studies to analysis materiel and/or logistics systems problems; 3) Use programming languages to improve system efficiencies; and 4) Create analytical reports for senior leadership. The definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 or (GS-13) equivalent.

Education

Basic Education Requirement for Data Scientist- 1560
A).Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

B) Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
