This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia. Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Public Health Analyst, you are responsible for: - Providing support to ONC leadership to ensure ONC administrative practices and procedures are consistent, efficient, and supportive of organizational objectives. - Analyzing, preparing, drafting, and editing material and informational documents related to health IT policy for review and signature. - Collaborating across the government and the private sector on a variety of health IT, health policy, and public health topics. - Assisting in the coordination ONC's ongoing external outreach and coordination efforts to strengthen the feedback loop of information between staff and leadership.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement: Undergraduate and Graduate Education Major study -- public health or other field of study with course work directly related to the work of the position to be filled AND Minimum Qualification Requirement: A. Must have at least one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes at least 2 (two) of the following: 1. Researching public health program regulations/policy. 2. Collaborating with external organizations on health policy, health IT and/or other public health topics. 3. Preparing agendas, presentations, briefing materials and talking points in preparation for leadership speaking opportunities. OR B. Must Have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in public health or other field of study with course work directly related to the work of the position to be filled or LL.B. or J.D., if related. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. OR C. PATHWAYS - RECENT GRADUATE - ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants MUST MEET the following eligibility requirements to participate in the Pathways Recent Graduate Program:
- Have completed, within the last two (2) years as of the closing date of this announcement, a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational, or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying education institute.
- Veterans who were unable to apply within two (2) years of receiving their degree, due to military service obligation, may be extended up to six years.

Note: You must submit transcripts (unofficial or official) and/or a letter from an education institute stating that you have meet all degree requirements; to be considered eligible for the Pathways Recent Graduate Program.
