The United States Space Force (USSF) at Vandenberg Space Force Base (California) is searching for a Training and Exercises Specialist (NH-0301-03, GS 12/13 Equivalent).
Description:
The 55 Combat Training Squadron (USSF) is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter exercise coordinator and planning expert to support Space Battle management command and control operations. This position will serve as a subject matter expert and focal point for the Space Delta 5/55 CTS leadership team supporting training and exercise tasks and programs. Team member, task lead, instructor, exercise coordinator and advisor actively engaging in exercise planning, coordination, and execution as well as training of new capabilities as they are delivered into operations supporting the CSpOC/Space Delta 5 family of missions. Provides planning, direction, organizing, and exercises advocacy in coordination with active duty USAF/USSF personnel, government civilian and contractor employees assigned to the 55 Combat Training Squadron, Space Delta 5 at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA. Executes tasks and coordinates with team of other highly skilled instructors, evaluators, exercise controllers and combat mission ready personnel ensuring they are equipped with required exercise products, instructor training materials, capabilities and resources to effectively exercise and train operations personnel to meet mission requirements. Advises the DEL 5 Commander/CSPOC Director and CDR CJFSCC on exercise technical issues concerning space control, space support and space domain awareness. Join the 55 CTS team!
Ideal Candidate:
Background in space warfighting battle management command and control operations, tactical space warfare operations and instructor experience. Candidate should possess previous DAF and/or US Space Force exercise planning, coordination, and execution experience as well as subject matter expertise as being recognized as a technical/functional advisor on exercise & training program execution. Bachelor's degree highly desired. Knowledge of training and instructional systems development methods and analysis evaluation and fact-finding techniques to gather data, identify significant factors, and recommend solutions. Knowledge of Space Battle Management combat mission ready training, evaluation, exercise execution, and weapons and tactics programs, systems, and subsystems to include instructional systems development processes.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- This position is eligible for telework 2-4 days a pay period.
- PCS and Incentives are authorized.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- Random drug testing may be required depending upon the position being filled.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
