About the Position: This position is located with the Forces Command, Protocol Office, Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville. Both visitors & residents enjoy the shops & eateries of downtown Hopkinsville & Clarksville. The cost of living is lower than the average for all major U.S. cities.
Duties
Formulating, developing, coordinating, executing and supervising the functions of the Protocol Office.
Plans, directs, coordinates, executes and supervises the conduct of VIP visits and assigned units by general officers, foreign delegations of all ranks, government officials and distinguished civilians.
Instructs and make presentations on proper protocol procedures.
Establishes and maintain effective and cooperative relationships with representatives of military, civilian and foreign organizations in obtaining cooperation in protocol functions.
Interprets protocol guidelines and associated regulations, policies, directives, procedural and substantive guides, precedents, and instructions in order to plan, direct, coordinate, and analyze all data.
Provides recommendations, and/or implement a variety of events ensuring that proper protocol is addressed/conducted.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- This position has an irregular tour of duty and may require shift work and/or work on rotating shifts to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays and/or other situations.
- This position requires the incumbent to serve one year supervisory probation unless otherwise completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes finalizing travel and/or other protocol arrangements for distinguished guests during official visits; advising higher level staff members on matters pertaining to protocol and customs and/or courtesies; managing funding and budgeting expenditures.
