DCSA's DoD Insider Threat Management and Analysis Center (DITMAC) is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team and gain experience as an Insider Threat Investigations Analyst. The DITMAC leverages relevant data, a multidisciplinary team of analysts and experts, research, analysis, and risk assessment, and enabling tools and technologies to build an enterprise view of Insider Threat issues across the Department and in support of DoD Components.

Duties

As an INSIDER THREAT INVESTIGATIONS ANALYST you will be responsible for the following duties: The incumbent will serve as an action officer supporting the requirements of the DoD Insider Threat Management and Analysis Center (DITMAC), acting as an all-source insider threat analyst in support of the Department's counter-insider threat mission. The selectee will be required to review reports meeting insider threat behavioral thresholds or anomalous behavior indicative of potential insider risk, access additional databases and resources, including coordination with component insider threat hubs, to help contextualize behavior, and complete analytic documents to support the DoD enterprise in mitigating risk and supporting rehabilitation of employees. This will be done in coordination with a wide range of subject matter experts available to support the analyst. The incumbent will work across divisions of the DITMAC, coordinating with the Enterprise Program Management Office to facilitate component program growth and evaluation, the Unauthorized Disclosure Program Management Office on coordination of the loss of classified and controlled unclassified information, the Performance, Requirements, Information, Standards, and Metrics division to ensure appropriate capture of data and statistics, the Prevention, Assistance, and Response division to coordinate risk management with leaders and functional experts, the Behavioral Threat Analysis Capability division to deliver subject matter expertise to contextualize risk-based behaviors, and the User Activity Monitoring and Publicly Available Electronic Information division to help the governance and integration of those into the analytical process. This promotes the "one DITMAC" effort and supports the broader counter-insider threat enterprise. The selectee will work directly with DoD components and must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. The ability to receive, process, and synthesize disparate data sets into a comprehensive, succinct, and quality written product is essential. A strong working knowledge of the MS Suite of tools, as well as the capability to adapt to a wide range of changing technology and tools, is necessary to complete the mission. In serving in the insider threat enterprise, the selectee's integrity must be beyond reproach. As the counter-insider threat mission set is evolving, flexibility and adaptability are critical assets of any applicant. It is recommended the selectee receive conferral for the Certified Counter-Insider Threat Professional - Fundamentals within one year, and the Certified Counter-Insider Threat Professional - Analysis within two years.

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-12 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Monitoring and auditing information for insider threat detection and mitigation; and information gathering and collection techniques, research, and analytical skills. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1.
