About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US Army Cyber Command - G6 at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia.
Duties
Serve as Senior Technical Advisor responsible for coordinating input and development.
Serve as Contracting Officer Representative/Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) for IT related contracts that impact services and expansion of training networks.
Manage the development of Virtual Systems Engineering processes used by the command.
Establish application of policies, standards methods, and evaluation procedures for meeting correct and future Information Technology needs.
Evaluate the effectiveness of operation supervised in terms of mission accomplishment; quality and quantity of standards met, procedural policy and regulatory compliance, and technical competence.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain TOP SECRET security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.
- Must be willing to take and successfully pass a Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph (CI/Poly).
- Incumbent (or Selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M.
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse prevention and control program.
- The incumbent will be required to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one-year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by developing short and long range goals/milestones to develop, implement, install, maintain, configure, and operate a virtual environment (i.e. Secret and Below Infrastructure (SABI), virtual desktops, cross domain solution for printing, thin clients, and storage area networks); providing full life cycle and enterprise architecture support on designated projects; monitoring Virtual Machine (VM) and physical server performance, availability, capacity, and configuration to identify and resolve problems within the virtualization environment (i.e. Windows, FreeBSD, GNU/Linux, KVM, Xen, Ceph, Openstack (Nova, Neutron, Ceilometer, Horizon, Glance, Cinder, Congress, Heat, Murano, Citrix, and others as appropriate); coordinating with Program Managers, Project Managers, Product Managers, and senior command organizational directors, chiefs, and liaison officers to define and meet virtualization requirements, services, and methodology.

My specialized experience includes, or was supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:

Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.
