About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command aty Fort Eisenhower, Georgia.

Duties

Responsible for providing all 24x7 IT Army MI NIPR/SIPR and JWICS enterprise services to GISA and regionally aligned datacenters, including network operations monitoring, information assurance compliance, and access to intelligence data Leads Detachment within the Ground Intelligence Support Activity (GISA), providing 24x7 information technology (IT) services throughout a theater Area of Operations(AOR) and worldwide for all Army INSCOM NIPR/SIPR and JWICS users. Provides IT support including: video teleconferencing, phones, Full Service Directory support, email support, data center services, network operations security service center, Army JWICS identity management and Internet Protocol allocation. Leads technical reviews for the Army MI NIPR/SIPR and JWICS Enterprise Configuration Control Board (CCB) and for the chairman of the GISA Technical Review Board (TRB).

Requirements

  • May be required to carry a cell phone during on-call status outside normal duty hours.
  • May be required to deploy to exercise or contingency locations to provide expert technical support,possibly for 30 days or longer.
  • Required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and earn the required certification for this position as outlined in DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program,dated 19 December 2005.
  • Designated Mission Essential: May be required to report for or remain at work during inclement weather or when operations are disrupted, as mandated by management.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required 25% or less of the time.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraphexamination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.

Specialized Experience: One year of experience equivalent to the GG/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience in: 1) Analyzing Information Technology (IT) programs to assess overall compliance with IT plans and policies; 2) Assist with resolving complex automation and communications resource requirements; and 3) Providing enterprise services support in areas such as network operations monitoring, information assurance compliance, and access to intelligence data AND specialized experience includes, or was supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
