About the Position: This position supports the mission of the Deputy Assistant Director, Financial Operations J8, and it is located in JBSA - Ft. Sam Houston, TX.

Duties
Review, verify and analyze data for consistency with financial and program objectives.
Provide training and evaluation visits to assist system users in achieving the full range of objectives.
Formulate and implement financial/resource management systems, theories, and policies, direct operational accounting procedures and actions, continuously monitor actions and reports.
Provide professional and technical advice to MTFs and DFAS management officials on compliance with, interpretation, and implementation of requirements.
Coordinate with other functions of Resource Management Division (RMD) and other organizational elements of the Command in order to maintain accurate resources, research, analyze, develop resolutions, and avoid unforeseen impact.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of
employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Continued employment in this position is subject to successfully obtaining and maintaining a Level 2 DoD Financial Management Certification within two years from entry on duty.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) aiding in the analysis of data for consistency with financial and/or program objectives, 2) participating in the implementation of financial/resource management systems, AND 3) assisting with providing advice to management officials on compliance with financial policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
