About the Position: This position supports the mission of the Deputy Assistant Director, Financial Operations J8, and it is located in JBSA - Ft. Sam Houston, TX. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Duties

Review, verify and analyze data for consistency with financial and program objectives. Provide training and evaluation visits to assist system users in achieving the full range of objectives. Formulate and implement financial/resource management systems, theories, and policies, direct operational accounting procedures and actions, continuously monitor actions and reports. Provide professional and technical advice to MTFs and DFAS management officials on compliance with, interpretation, and implementation of requirements. Coordinate with other functions of Resource Management Division (RMD) and other organizational elements of the Command in order to maintain accurate resources, research, analyze, develop resolutions, and avoid unforeseen impact.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Continued employment in this position is subject to successfully obtaining and maintaining a Level 2 DoD Financial Management Certification within two years from entry on duty.
