You will serve as a HOUSING MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Norfolk Housing Service Center of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY HAMPTON ROADS.
Duties
You will monitor responses to reviews for military member’s legal complaints.
You will mediate tenant-landlord concerns and complains following agreed upon procedures.
You will review and respond to audit and inspection reports and is responsible for the correction of identified deficiencies.
You will determine suitability of properties based on standards, inspections, history and analyses.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Directing and coordinating the management, maintenance and repairs of a complex Federal housing operation; 2) Determining the utilization requirements of family housing in accordance with Federal and agency housing policies and requirements; 3) Administrative planning, scheduling and coordination of work forces and resources pertaining to housing management activities; 4) Negotiating with local authorities, tenants, and other interested parties on programs related to the operation and use of public housing assets; and 5) Providing customer support services to military and civilian officials concerning housing policies and programs. Education
Those who do not have the specialized experience listed under the Qualifications section may qualify with education or a combination of education and experience as follows:
Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR
Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
OR
Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
