Duties

In this position as a Supervisory Human Resource Specialist (Military), you will responsible for building the advancement boards, writing the eligibility criteria in the PeopleSoft software, resolving software problems, and designing modifications to the programming in Direct Access.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-9 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level performing duties such as: Using judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness and deviating from established methods to address specific issues or problems related to military personnel actions or programs. Using guidelines and precedents  specific to HR (military) functions that are often very general regarding military personnel agency policy statements and objectives. ORMaster's or equivalent graduate degree in a related fieldOR2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a related field.ORLL.B. or J.D., if related.OR Have a combination of directly related work experience and graduate level education.:Combinations of successfully completed graduate education as described above and specialized experience as described above may be used to meet the total qualification requirements.You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess 1 year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level performing duties such as: Developing methods of measurement that provide a valid assessment of the success of the military human resources program or related initiatives in accomplished established goals and objectives. Evaluating the correctness of actions taken in the terms of its conformance to available guides in military personnel. Providing managers and employees with information and interpretation of the agency’s military human resources policies, procedures, and guidelines. Keeping abreast of military personnel events occurring within and outside of the agency to anticipate the need for initiating action. ORPh.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related fieldOR3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, in a related fieldORLL.M., if related OR Have a combination of directly related work experience and graduate level education.:Combinations of successfully completed graduate education as described above and specialized experience as described above may be used to meet the total qualification requirements. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
