The position is located in the Office of Special Investigations, Domestic Operations Directorate, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, U.S. Department of State. You will serve as a resource liaison and advocates for survivor priorities through options presented in relation to employment and/or eligibilities following identification as a federal crime victim.
Duties
Gathers special educational materials in preparation for contact to offer written correspondence applicable to the needs and location of an identified victims.
Applies insight and drafts timely correspondence while completing program documents, such as intake forms and victim support applications without room for error and in ways that avoid further re-victimization.
Contributes to operational collections of information for providing victims and available local resources. Develops statistical reports of program activity to contribute to data calls and required compliance as directed.
Delivers internal and external training about victim assistance to share information regarding new victim assistance programs and services tailored to resonate with various audiences most effectively.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. If you are qualifying based on education OR if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcript with your application.
NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must meet ONE of the required basic entry qualification requirements described below:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Have a undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral or social science; or other related disciplines appropriate to this position;
OR Have a combination of education and experience that provided you with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in this field;
OR Have completed at least 4 years of appropriate experience that demonstrates that you have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in this field.
IN ADDITION to meeting one of the basic entry qualifications requirements listed above, the applicant MUST have at least one year of specialized experience that has equipped them with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience developing comprehensive reports and briefings on victim advocacy related programs to include statistical information.
Experience linking victims to national and international resources to address financial, case management, social services, counseling and judicial support as a result of victimization.
Experience synthesizing priorities and resource needs to victims to respond to barriers to participate in the judicial process.
