This position is in the Power Account Services (PSS) organization of Requirements Marketing (PS), Power Services (P), Bonneville Power Administration (Bonneville or BPA).
The purpose of this position is to supervise a staff within PSS and work with the PSS Manager to assure congruence and coordination among all the PSS staff.
Duties
As a Supervisory Public Utilities Specialist, you will:
Provides administrative and technical supervision to a team of Account Specialists responsible for providing administrative and technical support to Account Executives who are duty-located across an 8-State area and represents BPA to its Pacific Northwest region utility customers in Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Montana and portions of California, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming.
Stays current on and informs PSS staff about policy and program developments within BPA that could impact Northwest Requirements Marketing (NWRM) initiatives, policies, or processes. Interfaces with employees in other organizations, especially those who work in the BPA headquarters and interface regularly with PSS, to educate them about such initiatives.

- First time supervisors will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
1) experience leading, performing, and coordinating customer-facing contracting or analytical work associated with power sales agreements (e.g., generation, distribution, transmission), and 2) facilitating decision-making using an organization's standard decision tools and processes and implementing those decisions once made.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
