To exercise supervisory and management authority over the Military & Family Readiness Center assigned. Serve as a consultant to leadership on matters related to personal and family readiness. Provide a wide range of work-life services on individual, family, and community issues to develop resilient, ready Airmen.

Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time.
Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the military & family readiness flight.
Represent the force support squadron with a variety of installation functional area organization.
Establish, define, and implement M&FRC program requirements to ensure operations are in line with support goals and regulatory/fiscal/mission requirements.

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
or
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
or
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade NH-02, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes developing goals and objectives that integrate organizations and Military & Family Readiness Flight objectives to build and enhance instillation unit and family readiness through center-based, unit-based and community outreach delivery. Establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with other base organizations, senior leadership, squadron commanders, and representatives from other military services, Department of Defense agencies, and related civilian organizations. Administer and ensure Family Support Program community needs for eligible personnel and their families, including those located at geographically separated units. Establish, revise, or review policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization of the staff as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to support mission accomplishment.NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the NH-02 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the NH-03 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Professional knowledge of concepts, principles, theories, and practices relating to social or behavioral science
Knowledge of financial, budget, resource management practices and principles, and analytical and evaluative methods and techniques.
Skills in effectively organizing and utilizing community resources within the program framework to augment the program and meet installation objectives.
Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization.
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
