About the Position: Fort Liberty is a culturally diverse area with both rural and city populations, adjacent to Fayetteville and centrally located in the beautiful state of NC which enjoys a temperature year-round climate and world-renowned colleges and universities. Fayetteville is located between the beautiful beaches of North Carolina and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains.

Duties

Serves as the subject matter expert for the Doctrine, Operations, Training, materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities, Policy endorsement process supporting the SOF Enterprise. Provides guidance and subject matter expertise to facilitate compliance with the congressionally mandated Security Force and Security Assistance guidelines. Serves as the command authority for planning, organizing, and determining necessary policies, regulations, directives, doctrine, and procedures for the Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response (CHMR) program. Convenes the command’s CHMR Operational Planning Team and ensures appropriate participation by relevant functions and expertise to establish a prioritized sequence of steps. Responsible for synchronizing CHMR into military operational planning considerations with allies and partners across JSOC Headquarters.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% of the time. Are you willing and able to travel away from your permanent duty station up to 30% of the time.
  • This position is Deployable and is expected to travel OCONUS on regular, rotating basis and/or short notice. A physical is REQUIRED as a condition of employment prior to EOD and as needed, thereafter.
  • Immunizations are required for deployed locations.
  • This position may be subjected to short notice recall. Must reside within 50-mile radius of duty location.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
