About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Reserve Command, Office of the Secretary of the General Staff, Protocol Office located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Duties
Direct formulation of arrangements for the planning of command social and official functions that support the Command Group at Fort Liberty, NC, Fort Belvoir, VA, and Pentagon, Washington, DC.
Administer protocol program to include program development, program planning, and program evaluation for the United States Army Reserve Command (USARC) and Office of the Chief of Army Reserve (OCAR) offices.
Assure continued responsiveness to changing conditions by providing appropriate guidance both formally and informally to the OCAR and USARC staffs and subordinate commands.
Provide technical supervision over protocol specialists in United States Army Reserve Command (USARC) and Office of the Chief of Army Reserve (OCAR) offices.
Appraise office operations for effectiveness, quality, performance, and progress in meeting program objections.
Review protocol activities and initiatives for responsiveness to mission requirements.
Implement the protocol program that supports United States Army Reserve operations.
Implement the protocol program that supports United States Army Reserve operations.
Manage the Official Representation Funds Program.

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes independently developing and implementing command protocol policies; establishing new protocol procedures to provide to command group, Headquarters Group, and subordinate commands; providing protocol support or guidance for senior level visitors; developing guest lists, invitations, programs, place cards, flag requirements and seating arrangements for official functions; and resolving issues based on knowledge, objectives and lines of communication of the military organizations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
