Duties

The incumbent serves as the Chief, Inmate Communication Section. Incumbent is responsible for overseeing the development, design, implementation, and daily maintenance of a complex automated Inmate Telephone System (ITS) which provides 24 hours a day, 365 days a year service to Bureau of Prisons’ inmates. Incumbent ensures the system meets the requirements established by management for the efficient operation of the ITS and the collection and manipulation of other Trust Fund related data. Ensures the system is fully integrated with other Trust Fund Commissary and financial operations.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position. Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience in overseeing the development, design, implementation, and daily maintenance of an automated Inmate Telephone System. Experience in analyzing information and providing recommendations in regard to the formulation, establishment or modification of agency/organization financial management program objectives, plans, and/or policies relating to Inmate Telephone systems. Experience in providing guidance to management regarding complex Trust Fund operational issues, implementation/modification of financial systems that had a significant impact on operations. Experience in developing plans, programs, procedures to ensure compliance with established regulatory requirements regarding the Trust Fund Inmate Telephone System. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience.
