THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1205000 and is part of the LOGISTICS, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Recruitment, Retention and Relocation Incentive may be authorized up to 25% of base pay for a max of 4 years pending TAG approval.

Duties

As a Electronics Mechanic, WG-2604-10/11, you will perform field and limited sustainment maintenance and repair on a variety of complex electronics equipment and complete operational systems.

Requirements

• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
• Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
• Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position within one year of appointment.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications

Military Grades: Enlisted GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the applicants knowledge of electrical or electronic theory, knowledge of common testing procedures, skill in the use of hand tools of the electronics trade, and skill in reading schematics. WG-10 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 36 months experience or training diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying more complex vehicles, equipment, and more complicated systems. Experience which has provided a thorough knowledge of diagnostic equipment. Experience applying independent judgment in determining methods and techniques required to solve unusually complex maintenance and repair problems. Experienced in testing, inspecting, and evaluating the work performed on vehicles, equipment and systems. WG-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 36 months top tier experience diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying more complex vehicles, equipment, and more complicated systems. Must possess top tier thorough knowledge of diagnostic equipment. Must be able to Remove and disassembles engines and complex major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and fuel, hydraulic, and oil pressure systems. Can independently perform repairs and maintenance functions with little or no supervision in remote locations. Can conduct readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and associated equipment supported by the activity. Can sufficiently and safely perform electrical repairs on complex state of the art electrical and electronic systems that require extensive training on specialized diagnostic equipment to identify problems. Able to assists in the maintenance of production reports and records, and make recommendations to the supervisor.
