About the Position: This position with the Office of the Chief of Army Reserve, Strategic Initiatives Group located at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
Duties
Serve as Acting Deputy Director in the absence of the Director.
Serve as a Strategic Planner for the Strategic Initiatives Group for the Chief of Army Reserve (CAR) and the Commanding General, U.S. Army Reserve Command (USARC).
Coordinate efforts across multiple stakeholders to complete priority initiatives, to include conducting research, assisting in analysis, leading problem framing, developing courses of action, implementing decisions, and disseminating guidance.
Develop general officer forums, long-term special studies, briefings, and written products for the Chief of Army Reserve on topics of strategic importance that communicate his/her vision and strategic objectives to internal and external audiences.
Maintain integration with other senior leaders personal staff to ensure Army Reserve activities nest with the Army’s strategic direction.
Develop the execution plan for the Chief of Army Reserve / Commanding General’s strategic engagements including itinerary, talking points, and messages.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes leading operational planning teams to solve a diversity of complex problems that includes multiple stakeholders; supporting general officer and/or Senior Executive Service (SES) personnel (expand on the ways they support, i.e. facilitate solutions, travel with, develop executive level products); coordinating across military branches on national policy and strategy; supporting military planning, including deliberate and crisis; and data management, trend analysis, and problem analysis resolution. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
