About the Position: As the Supervisor, Flight Simulations, the incumbent is responsible for military aviation simulator training support at a large multi-mission installation; which has been designated as a most optimized strategically responsive (MOSR) garrison within the Installation Managment Command (IMCOM).
Duties
Plans and directs the operations of the Flight Simulation Facility.
Serves as the Flight Simulations (FS) facility senior Army Aviation Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Serves with a high level of proficiency as an instructor operator as needed on Army trained aircrafts flight simulator.
Supervisory authority over flight instructors in order to allocate resources, to plan, direct, supervise, and to make binding commitments and decision regarding program elements supervised.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
- Travel required up to 20%.
- Position requires a pre-employment physical.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience training Army aviators on flight simulation equipment such as Transportable Flight Proficiency Trainer (TFPS) CH-47, Black Hawk Aircrew Trainer (BAT) UH-60 A/L, Longbow Crew Trainer (LCT) AH-64, Black Hawk full motion simulator UH-60 M, Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer (AVCATT), Gray Eagle Flight Simulator, and Shadow Simulator. Evaluating Army aviators on basic and advanced helicopter flight techniques; normal and emergency procedures; and helicopter systems and operation. Instructing Army aviators on instrument flight and navigation techniques. Providing guidance to higher level officials on flight simulations support. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
