About the Position: This position is located at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Center in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Duties

Review and analyze equipment maintenance logs. Monitor the preventive maintenance program to ensure all elements of the program are developed. Monitor and inspect maintenance, repair and construction of contractors. Evaluate equipment and system performance and assesses system efficiency. Assist in the maintenance of a quality assurance program by conducting routine facility inspections.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work weekends and/or holidays.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience for the GS-10 Grade Level: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with preparing reports and correspondence, assisting with reviewing equipment maintenance logs, providing assistance with the development of projects, knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Codes and other building codes, or knowledge of building automation systems (BAS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Education Substitution for the GS-10: Successful completion of 45 graduate semester hours in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts) OR Less than one year of specialized experience and at least 27 semester hours of graduate education. Compute the percentage of the requirements that you meet, and the total must equal at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond 27 graduate semester hours (total graduate semester hours minus 27) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Specialized Experience for the GS-11 Grade Level: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring utility systems for preventive maintenance, performing quality assurance inspections of contractor work projects, preparing designs and specifications for assigned systems in a medical facility, knowledge of Joint Commission Standards, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Codes and other building codes, or knowledge of building automation systems (BAS).This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Education Substitution for the GS-11: Successful completion of a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Less than one year of specialized experience and at least two years of graduate education. Compute the percentage of the requirements that you meet, and the total must equal at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
