You will serve as a Supply Technician in the Supply Management Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE.

Duties

You will perform day-to-day aspects of gear issue operations in the management of flight gear, flight clothing, and Surface Warfare Officer jackets. You will be responsible for receipt processing, general inventory, physical issue to recipients, and shipping clothing to recipients when necessary. You will access multiple automated and manual data sources to retrieve and process customer requests for material and supply services. You will assist customers with size and fit of clothing items, provide 'in-processing' briefs to student classes to provide clear and concise instructions on the outfitting process and gear accountability, and apply material management regulations. You will prepare and submit requisitions to the appropriate Inventory Control Point (ICP). You will maintain meticulous files for all Navy Leather Flight Jackets and Surface Warfare Officer Jackets stocked and issued to qualified recipients, and conduct specific periodic physical inventories of stocked material. You will conduct research and reconcile quantities on hand with validated inventory records and resolve discrepancies as required. You will perform material handling duties using forklifts and other material handling equipment in accordance with established safety rules and regulations.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license or Government Vehicle Operator Permit.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift certification.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing technical supply support work. Specialized Experience must include most of the following: 1) Applying a basic knowledge of governing supply procedures, regulations, and policies in order to resolve discrepancies, conduct extensive record searches, and respond to customer inquiries related to supply requests; 2) Utilizing a knowledge of various manuals, catalogs, parts lists, stock lists, cross reference lists in order to aid in identifying clothing assets; 3) Familiar with Department of Defense supply systems, transportation systems (military and civilian), and other automated systems and/or software applications (Word, Excel, automated research tools, databases, and the internet) which are all used to help determine the efficiency and effectiveness of an organization; 4) Applying a basic knowledge of inventory management concepts (receipt processing, general inventory, forecast requirements, and disposal of material); and 5) Utilizing a knowledge of procurement procedures and regulations, various types of contract actions and government procurement programs.
