You will serve as a Supply Technician (HAZMAT) in the Supply Management Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE at NAS Whiting Field, Milton, FL. . ***This Job Opportunity Announcement is using an additional online assessment tool to evaluate applicants. Duties

You will perform a wide range of inventory management and physical distribution functions for Hazmat. You will perform technical screenings on all requested materials to ensure materials meet customer requirements as well as ensuring materials are environmentally compliant. You will perform requisition follow-ups and provide status to customers and provide information to customers on the handling of Hazmat. You will maintain automated inventory records by conducting periodic physical inventories of Hazmat; to ensure all stock records are accurate.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift Operator certification.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing as a Supply Technician (Hazmat). I have experience in all item management roles regarding item establishment/removal, stock replenishment, customer order processing, outstanding container management, and all other functions involving Hazmat management via Navy Enterprise Resource Programs (N-ERP). Examples of specialized experience include: 1.) Utilizing information systems and/or software applications, such as word-processing, spreadsheets, automated research tools, database applications, and the internet; 2.) Articulating and presenting oral and written forms of research and information relevant to the position; 3.) Assisting customers with management and supply inquiries and other related actions including answering inquires on the status of requisitions and delivery of material; 4.) Maintaining Hazmat operations and usage data to prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports utilizing N-ERP.
