You will serve as a Supply Technician of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE.

Duties

You will review, research, and resolve reports of non-deliveries, losses, damages, discrepancies, and computer-generated rejects. You will perform clean-up duties, such as cleaning and dusting bins, cutting off box tops, sweeping, straightening and lining up property in the assigned area. You will utilize automated systems to obtain logistics data on existing national stock numbers. You will correct errors found through causative research program. You will report broken seals on containers or damaged or deterorating incoming shipments to supervisor. You will apply material handling techniques in storing items providing for easy retrieval, convenience in handling, protection from damage, and ease of movement.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current forklift certification.

Qualifications

I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-05 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying knowledge of Supply System policy, programs and procedures, involving receipt, transfer, storage, transportation, and handling of hazardous material and hazardous waste. Specialized experience must include the following: 1) Use basic job-relevant information systems and/or software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, automated research tools, database applications, and the Internet; 2) Clearly and effectively articulate and present in oral and written form, information relevant to the position; 3) Assist customers with management and supply inquires and other related actions including answering inquiries on the status of requisitions and delivery of material; 4) Understand basic inventory management concepts such as receiving, entering, and validating requisition Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
