You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the PLANNING AND ESTIMATING DIVISION, REPAIR DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SUBMARINE SUPPORT FACILITY.

Duties

You will provide direction to shop planners including production planning, special equipment requirements, manpower management, and sourcing of repair parts and materials. You will provide technical direction over work efforts of subordinates to ensure efficient accomplishment of operations. You will continually monitor work in progress and changes in work plans, work assignments and methods as necessary to meet milestones and deadlines. You will provide administrative oversight of shop operations.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GS-11 *Experience applying production control principles, techniques, and methodology to plan and execute the construction, manufacture, overhaul, or repair of ship projects. *Experience with industrial efforts that involve use of civil servants, military, and contractors. *Experience utilizing maintenance management systems and programs (i.e. OMMS, 3M, PMR, URO, K-MRC). *Experience with submarine shipboard systems as well as temporary systems (dewatering, firefighting, ventilation, and lighting etc). Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GS-10 *Experience using Microsoft Office Products with specific emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project. *Experience using Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual, methods, principles, practices, and processes. *Experience assuring equipment and material are available to support schedule. *Experience prioritizing jobs, re-assigning assets, and revising tasks.
