About the Position: This position serves as an engineering technician with the Edwards AFB Resident Office located on Edwards Air Force Base, California.

Duties

This position is developmental to the full performance GS-11 grade. At the full performance grade, the employee will: Prepare design revisions to plans, specifications and cost estimates, or independently evaluate those prepared by others (i.e. project engineers, mechanical/electrical specialists, suppliers solutions). Assist with change orders for a variety of projects requiring considerable adaptation of precedents or designs. Review contractor proposals and/or user requests for additions, deletions, modifications, or other contract changes. Prepare construction cost estimates.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
• You may be expected to travel for this position up to 20% of the time.

GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes supporting higher graded technicians in performing contract administration for construction projects and providing technical support for engineers.
