Duties

Serves as a Data Management Specialist for the Data Surveillance Section, Behavioral Programs Branch, Marine and Family Programs Division, Headquarters, Marine Corps. Provides data management support by performing data collection, cleaning, and management activities in support of data analysis and reporting needs. Collects and organizes data from various resources including aggregate and individual-level data sourced from field assets.  Uses data management and reporting systems to collect and organize data drawn from databases. Follows or develops data validation and organization protocols in order to prepare data for analysis.

Qualifications

Bachelor¿s degree in Statistics, Social Science, Public Health or Business Administration or a related field appropriate to work of the position AND three years of experience in a related field such as statistical analysis or research, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above, OR appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above.  Skill to critically review source data, detect, and correct errors. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with data analysts, project managers, and adjacent teams. Skill to provide training and guidance to application/program users and to make presentations. Expertise in social services related data is a plus.
