About the Position: This position is with the Office of the Secretary of the Army (Installations, Energy and Environment), Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Environmental Safety and Occupational Health) (DASA(ESOH)) located in the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia.
A relocation incentive may be authorized subject to provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations.
Duties
Serves as a Department of Army senior advisor to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Environmental Safety and Occupational Health) (DASA(ESOH)) on environmental security.
Lead the development of projections, risk mitigations, and evaluation techniques, to ensure the organizations have accurate and relevant information with which to make decisions regarding current and emerging environmental security threats.
Develop recommendations for Army environmental security enhancements, information sharing, and partnerships toward shared solutions.
Objectively examines and analyzes data for the development and direction of domestic and overseas environmental management programs within the Army and allied international organizations.
Meet with representatives of Office of the OSD, and other state and federal governmental agencies and private sector on behalf of the DASA(ESOH) to exchange information, participate in program and policy initiatives, and act as program advocate.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- TOP SECRET CLEARANCE-Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance.
- DRUG TESTING-This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019 and must pass urinalysis testing, as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing trend data of environmental security initiatives for performance improvement; assisting with resolving environmental problems to major significant agency environmental programs; and developing policy implementation guidance for environmental programs and/or projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
