About the Position: This position is with U.S. Army Cadet Command, Deputy Chief Of Staff, G1, Accessions and Standards Division. This position is located at Fort Knox, Hardin, KY.

Duties
Serve as expert staff advisor on the Reserve Officers’ Training Corp (ROTC) Cadet Personnel Management Program.
Provide expertise regarding complex ROTC cadet problems for decision on appeals, requests for reconsideration from initial decisions made by brigade commanders.
Participate in the establishment of policies relative to the management of cadets in the Senior Reserve Officers’ Training Corp (SROTC) programs.
Manage a variety of cadet management programs, including the Enrollment Eligibility Program, Special Active Duty Provision Program and the ROTC Scholarship Obligation Program.
Monitors cadet management data entered into the Cadet Command Information Management Module (CCIMM) by university and brigade personnel
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- May be required to complete a one year trial period.
- Temporary Duty (TDY), approximately 10% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout the duration of employment.

TERM APPOINTMENT INFORMATION:
This position is TERM not to exceed 2 years with provisions to be made permanent.
Army employees who accept a time-limited appointment (to include employees with personal competitive status) will be separated at the end of the time-limited appointment date if the Not-to-Exceed (NTE) date is not extended.
Employees are not eligible for a detail in the OCONUS area unless already residing in the same overseas area (foreign or non-foreign) as the position being filled. Employees currently located in OCONUS (foreign or non-foreign) are not eligible for a detail to a CONUS position.
This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour. You will be asked to sign an agreement acknowledging that you are aware of the obligation and willing to be displaced under reduction in force procedures upon the return of the former incumbent.

Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as analyzing guidance to offer assistance on complex HR issues such as waivers and retention, assisting with disenrollment processes to ensure compliance, AND reviewing enrollment data in HR programs in order to report findings to management.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
Education

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
