You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SECURITY DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Duties

You will provide daily security support in a wide range of security functional areas that include information security, physical security, personnel security, and general security administration. You will assure compliance with established security policies and procedures and coordinate command security requirements. You will provide security support, maintain access control logs for certified spaces, and perform sub-key custodian duties for certified spaces. You will provide assistance with command supported security exercises and activities. You will report any security incidents and electronic spillages.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for STRL jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower pay band. This requirement is called time-in-band. Time-in-band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.

Qualifications

DA-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (DA-02) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Utilizing security policies and procedures for the proper protection of controlled unclassified information (CUI) and classified information; 2) Analyzing and researching security issues and identifying solutions; 3) Performing self-inspections of secure facilities and ensuring findings are addressed and closed out; and 4) Developing and maintaining Security Standard Operating Procedures. DA-02: Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the (DA-01) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recognizing solutions; 2) Planning and organizing work; and 3) Communicating effectively orally and in writing. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

DA-03:

master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related

DA-02:

4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree
